Albena Resort announced 2023 as the Year of Health. It was said during an exclusive presentation, part of the program of the international tourist exhibition "Holiday and SPA" in Sofia. Within the framework of the initiative, several specialized camps will be organized, aimed at the prevention of childhood obesity - a disease from which nearly 30% of children in Europe suffer. The "School of Health" program was prepared jointly with Professor Svetoslav Khandzhiev and Professor Teodora Khandzhieva-Durlenska - specialists in the problems of dietetics and metabolic diseases. It includes individual consultations, anthropometric measurements related to body mass index and fat tissue, diagnosis of the risk of cardiovascular diseases and diabetes mellitus, daily lectures and fun games with an educational focus, field treatment with walks and exercises, swimming and a healthy menu, prepared by Albena's top chefs. "This is a natural continuation of our long-standing traditions in offering a tourist product, completely focused on clean and health-giving nature. The unique microclimate in the valley of the river "Batova", nature reserve "Baltata", clean sea air and healing mineral water, natural products with guaranteed origin from the farms of "Eko Agro" are among the main treasures of Albena, which make the resort one of the most preferred locations for health and family tourism. We are focused on the prevention of childhood obesity in the first place because of the enormous social importance of this problem, and also because of the experience we have gained over the years through our joint work with Professor Khandzhiev and the Bulgarian Association for the Study of Obesity and its Associated Diseases. Hundreds of families have already convinced themselves of the usefulness of our specialized programs, so it's time for more people to learn about them," said Krasimira Stoyanova, executive director of Albena Tour JSCo, during the presentation. She added that the culmination of the year devoted to health will be the hosting of the 32nd European Congress on Childhood Obesity on September 7-10.
During the three days of "Holiday and Spa", Albena presented the latest highlights in its portfolio for Summer 2023, among which the 5-stars Amelia Hotel, which is being transferred to the German Maritim chain; the renovated "Ralitsa Superior" hotel, which will operate under the Calimera brand - part of the leading tour operator in Germany DER Touristik; the expanded Ultra All Inclusive program; the rich sports and cultural calendar; the possibilities for organizing congress events and the special offers for wedding celebrations. Among the novelties are also camping and caravanning opportunities, the summer stage Albena Beach Arena and Albena Indoor Golf Academy.
