Albena is once again the European Resort of Sport in 2020

For the second consecutive year Albena has been elected as  European Resort of Sport. The prestigious distinction is due to the numerous opportunities for practicing various sports, both by professionals and by lovers of active lifestyles.

"Promoting healthy lifestyle choices, protecting nature and improving the accessible  environment are among our missions as a European Resort of Sport. Our motto is “Sporty by Nature,” noted the management of the holiday village.
In 2020, Albena's rich sports program includes more than 100 events at regional, national and international levels. Highlights include: two UEFA amateur tournaments - for youths and girls under 16; two competitions of the Balkans region in Table Tennis - in April and October; Bulgaria's National Railroad European Chess Championship; bridge tournaments with international participation; spartakiades of workers' organizations, plumbing and energy companies; German beachvolleyball.de beach volleyball camp and many more. For the first time, the resort will host a European Beach Games Tournament.

Since 2019 there is a swimming school in Albena, which throughout the year trains children and adults at different levels in individual and group classes. Diving school is another interesting opportunity that guests of the resort can take advantage of. In 2020, Albena's horse base will not only offer beginner and advanced trips and courses, but also horseback rides to nearby destinations. There is also a tennis academy on the territory of the holiday village - Dreisam Academy, as well as a football school.

Albena plans to invest more than BGN 500,000 in improving the sports facilities - construction of three new tennis courts near the Albena Tennis Center, a professional basketball court near the Albena Sports Hall, as well as renovation of the current sports grounds.

Albena's main goal as European Resort of Sport is not only to host international tournaments and camps, but also to motivate guests to work out while enjoying their vacation in the holiday village. Thanks to the motivated animation teams, they have the opportunity to engage in a variety of sports activities, including beach volleyball and football, water polo, water gymnastics, Zumba, aerobics, kango jumps, nordic walking and many more.
