From May 11 to 16, 2026, Albena Resort will become the meeting point for the European aviation elite. The resort is the official host of the European Controllers’ Cup (ECC) 2026 – a prestigious football championship gathering hundreds of air traffic controllers from across the continent. With a record participation of 41 teams from 27 countries, this year’s edition promises to be the largest in the tournament’s history.
"It is an honor for us to welcome the professionals who ensure the safety of Europe's skies. Albena is not just a place for relaxation; it is a benchmark for sports tourism, where perfectly maintained pitches meet the hospitality of the Bulgarian Black Sea coast." shares the resort's management. "Sports and Cultural Diplomacy" is Albena's motto for the upcoming event.
The program includes a grand opening ceremony on May 11 and a "Bulgarian Evening" on May 14, showcasing national folklore and traditions. A special highlight is the participation of world-renowned artists such as DJ Tarkan.
"For us, it is an honor to welcome the professionals who ensure the safety of Europe's skies," the resort's management stated. Krassimir Stanev, CEO of Albena JSC, added: "The 21st century is the century of aviation, and small aviation plays a vital role in the development of every country."
