Free taps for mineral water were installed in Albena Resort

Published on 28 06 2023

Free taps for mineral water were installed in Albena Resort. They are located at three different points - next to the Cultural Information Centre and on the beach promenade in front of the Maritim Paradise Blue 5* and Laguna Beach 4* hotels.

They are powered by the natural mineral springs in the complex, and next to each one there is an information board, communicating in four languages the water content, as well as its beneficial properties.

"The three springs have an annual capacity of 2 million m³ and the potential for bottling. This enables us to install taps for free drinking mineral water, leading to a reduction in plastic used by guests. Free mineral water systems have also been installed in Albena's hotels and restaurants," said Krasimira Stoyanova, CEO of Albena Tour and Sustainable Development and Green Transition Manager at the holiday resort.

The spring water in Albena is characterized as hypothermal, mineralized, hydrocarbonate-calcium-magnesium. This, combined with the presence of bicarbonate, calcium and magnesium ions, as well as metasilicic acid, gives it unique healing and prophylactic properties. When used externally, it has beneficial effects on the central and peripheral nervous system and the musculoskeletal system. In drinking balneotherapy, it has a good effect on problems of the gastrointestinal tract, biliary and renal systems. It does not have an intrusive smell or a pronounced taste.
