New Automatic Weather Station Begins Operating in Albena Today
As part of the practical training course “Adaptation to Climate Change”, students from the bachelor’s programme “Climate Change and Management” at the Faculty of Geology and Geography of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” have put a professional-grade automatic weather station into operation for the continuous monitoring of weather conditions in Albena Resort.
The practical training is being conducted with the support of Albena Resort, which purchased the automatic weather station and made it available for operation as part of its efforts to introduce innovative solutions in resort management and climate change adaptation.
The resort provides the necessary conditions for field training and student practical work, turning Albena into a real-world laboratory for education and applied research in the fields of climate, water and sustainable tourism.
The academic supervisors of the practical training are Prof. Nina Nikolova, Assoc. Prof. Kalina Radeva and Assoc. Prof. Simeon Matev from the Department of Climatology, Hydrology and Geomorphology at the Faculty of Geology and Geography of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”.
