More than 300 participants from 26 countries will take part in the Fifth European Petanque Championship, which will be held in the holiday village of Albena from 16 to 22 September this year. The large-scale event, hosted by Albena, is one of the main events, part of the rich sports program of the European Resort of Sport.

“Albena as a European Sport Resort hosts one World and 7 European Championships. We are currently concentrating our efforts on the European Petanque Championship, which is once again taking place in Albena, thanks to the high level of sports facilities we have and the good organization we create for every major event, ”said Denis Tahirov - Manager Sport in Albena.

The championship is divided into two championships: the Sixth Triple Championship for Men and the Fifth Triple Championship for veterans over 55. It is organized by the Bulgarian Petanque Federation. The Men's Championship is held every odd year and during it the best national teams are selected to join the FIPJP World Cup.

In addition to the European Petanque Championship, this year Albena also hosted the European Table Tennis Championship in April; two UEFA football tournaments - for girls under 17 in April and in September - for teenagers under 15; in July, the European Championship of Field Hockey, and in June, guest star was the creator of Tae Bo Billy Blanks, who conducted several trainings with the guests of the holiday village. Many other sports championships and camps are also part of a rich program that includes the ability to practice more than 40 sports at one place at the Albena European Resort.
