Table Tennis in Albena
Albena becomes the capital of table tennis with the 28th edition of the International Festival
Albena Resort once again confirms its status as a leading European destination for sports tourism by hosting the 28th International Table Tennis Festival “Albena 2026”. Today, the modern sports hall of the same name in the resort opened its doors to this special event, which brings together more than 300 competitors and guests from around the world, aged from 9 to 90.
As an established venue for prestigious international events, Albena offers excellent conditions for the large-scale 12-day programme. It includes: an “Open” individual tournament featuring well-known players; veterans’ tournaments divided into 6 age groups; an international children’s and youth festival in 5 categories from 11 to 19 years of age; and an international training camp led by the world-renowned Romanian coach Viorel Filimon.
The sports infrastructure of the resort will also welcome major names in the sport. Among them is long-time Bulgarian national champion Petyo Krastev, who will once again compete for the title in the open tournament.
The hosts from Albena, together with the organisers from the sports club “Dama Cupa”, are providing completely free admission for all residents and guests of the resort. Visitors will be able to enjoy top-level performances in the hall until the final day of the event on 2 August 2026.
By holding this traditional event, the resort once again underlines its commitment to the development of both professional and mass sport, combining first-class holidays with dynamic sporting experiences.
