It is presented by the World Foundation for Environmental Education, and is a testament to the resort's efforts in water purity, surrounding facilities, safety, ecology and overall management.
"Albena's efforts, ambition and investments in the sustainable development of the coastal zone over the years ranked the complex among the best in the world" said Stanimir Georgiev, Chairman of the Board of the Bulgarian Blue Flag Movement, representing the international organization in Bulgaria. According to him, Albena meets a number of high standards, ensuring that the extensive 6 km. sandy golden beach, bordering the greenery of the Baltata Nature Reserve, impressed the international jury with its natural beauty, sustainable management and good care by the resort authority.
