The exclusive guest of the competition will be the three-time world champion from Wales Mark Williams, who will play an exhibition match with the Bulgarian star Maxim Kostov on June 8.
From today to 17 June Albena Resort will host the European Snooker Championship, organised by the Bulgarian Snooker Federation. The competitions, held in the Perunika hall, are divided into four main areas. The individual championship for women and veterans (over 40 years old) will be played until 9 June. On June 8, the attractive Snooker Championship with six red balls starts. On 11 and 12 June it is the turn of the increasingly popular fast Shoot Out format. The European Team Championships for women, men and veterans will take place between 12 and 17 June. The Annual General Meeting of the European Billiards and Snooker Association is also scheduled for 10 June at 10 AM.
The highlight of the event will be the exhibition match of three-time world champion Mark Williams on 08.06 at 21:00h. The great Welsh master of the cue and Triple Crown winner will play an individual match in a 3 of 5 frames format with the European Snooker U16 finalist Maxim Kostov from Bulgaria. This match will be followed by a doubles match between Bulgaria and Wales, also in 3 of 5 format. The Bulgarian team will be represented by the talented Velian Dimitrov and Viktor Iliev - coach at the National Snooker Academy, while Wales will be represented by their two good friends Mark Williams and Lee Walker. Seats for the exhibition matches are limited to 150, and tickets priced at 80,00 BGN are available at Eventim.bg. The remaining competition days are free to spectators, with capacity limited to 100 seats.
