Journalists from Denmark and Finland in Albena Resort
Journalists from Denmark and Finland visited the Northern Black Sea coast. The one-week press trip, organized by Albena Resort, included an introduction to various tourist sites in the seaside Dobrudja. The programme focused on the power of the region's natural riches, such as mineral water, liman mud and bee products, united in healing and rehabilitation programmes.
The group hiked in the buffer zone of the Baltata reserve, accompanied by Petko Tsvetkov, ecologist from the Bulgarian Biodiversity Foundation. The birdwatching session around the lakes of Durankulak and Shabla with the ornithologist Pavel Simeonov aroused interest. The journalists visited the Albena farms, which supply more than 60% of the products needed for the restaurants of the complex - the herds of Black Angus cattle, the vegetable and fruit gardens, as well as the food waste processing and biogas production facilities. A truffle hunt was organized on the outskirts of the village of Obrichishte. On one of the days the journalists participated in the autumn grape harvest on the Geranea vineyards. The historical heritage of the so-called Culture Varna with the oldest processed gold treasure in the world combined with the Aladzha Monastery was not missed. The day continued with a tasting of traditional Bulgarian wines. The botanical garden in Balchik, together with the palace complex were also explored.
At the end of the stay, the journalists shared their surprise at the richness and high quality of the destination, which they had not expected before. As a unique advantage of the Albena complex, they pointed to the investments in projects that give the prospect of sustainable development. The initiative is organised in cooperation with Nordic Leisure Travel Group, the leading tour operator in Scandinavia, operating under various brands in Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland, and with the assistance of Varna Airport.
